  For 7 people it cost us $274 per night which is cheap, but, when divied up, my family of 4 paid $156.56 per night to sleep in the garage.
  Upstairs, with 3 good sized double-bedrooms, is mostly modern & lovely looking (bar the old fashioned kitchen, toilet and bathroom). The lounge/dining area is lovely with a good view of houses and hills. The stereo doesn't work (turns off & on every few seconds, despite checking the wiring). We didn't use the T.V.
  The kitchen is really well stocked with appliances, but the jug has to be held down to boil. The shower pressure upstairs is pathetic & looks like it was put in in the 80's, while the shower pressure in the ensuite is apparently great. No shower downstairs.
  The downstairs bedroom isn't a bedroom at all, just an empty grotty old garage (which I'm guessing is illegal to advertise as a bedroom & charge for). The garage walls & floor are just painted (no insulation), & a carpet square has been placed under each bed. There are two cane dividers that you can fold out across part of the garage but they're holey and give no privacy. The light switch to the garage is beside the garage roller door - which is no good if you're in bed reading as you have to walk to the end of the room to turn it off & then walk back in the dark.
  They wouldn't give us two keys for 7 people. They told us to use the garage door opener -which you don't want to use when people are sleeping (open it up and you'd see everyone in bed, plus they'd get cold and/or woken up by the roller-door noise). The single beds downstairs are small/short. Biggest one has a bar at the end and is too short for our 15 yr old son - his feet had to lie over the top of the bar. Downstairs is noticeably colder than upstairs, and the downstairs toilet light automatically turns on a loud fan - which is incredibly noisy both downstairs and upstairs.
  The accommodation needs to be advertised honestly & only rented as 3 bedrooms. It need another couch as there's only 2 couches (seats 5). The dining table has chairs for 8. The deck banaster (on the same side as the couches) is extremely wobbly and we all thought it was unsafe. We didn't see any smoke alarms anywhere - which is a requirement in NZ. The accommodation is missing a broom/shovel & hairdryer.
